Kaite Life Update

Wow has time flown by here in Ontario. I have been here for 2 months now, and it still feels like it was just yesterday we unpacked my car from the long drive from B.C.

Life is crazy and exciting and busy! I’m trying to find a good balance right now between spending time in the studio and exploring my new home. This has always been hard for me, especially during the busy season right before christmas – but I feel like i’m beginning to form a better routine and i’m sure in no time i’ll have a good balance of Art and the rest of life!

Things here are great! I still love my apartment to death! I’ve never felt more at home in a place other then our family home ( which I REALLY miss for the record).

I know i’ve promised to post some photos of my apartment – to be honest its not done yet! But i’ll post a few quick ones I’ve stolen off of my iPhone library to appease you all until I take nice ones !

I found this gem of a chair at the Value Village on Wellington Street for 15$

And this mirror I found at Winners! It was brown.. but I have a habit of painting everything white – I think it turned out pretty good!

Also.. I absolutely love my neighbourhood… I get to see houses like this everywhere!

For everyone wondering how Frank is doing, He is doing well and says hello!
This past week I helped him take care of his boss’s many animals! Chickens, Dogs, Cats, Parrots, a Snake and a Big Icky Spider…. Eeeek! It was a great learning experience … I think i’ll stick to one pup or one little kitty if I ever get a pet in the future!

Things on the “Good Morning Mabel” Front!
As an artist its always been my intention to share my work with the world as much as possible. I love creating, making and designing different things from functional pottery to jewelry to prints and more! So this past summer I took some thought into creating my own line of work – a blog, and an etsy among other things. This whole being your own boss has a massive learning curve that I am still trying desperately to figure out.

I have up and down days.. days where I feel very positive about Good Morning Mabel, and days where I get overwhelmed and feel like I can’t do it all on my own. But then I remember that i’m never alone in my life, and never alone in my artistic practice. My family, Friends and God will always pick me up when I need it most.

Just when I felt overwhelmed last night, I got a nice little package in the mail that lifted my spirits and nudged me to keep my head. I’m so excited to announce that my Business stamp has finally arrived in the mail.

So! My goals this week are to finally make my business cards! Hip-Hip-Horay!
